How our story began...

More than 10 years ago, Scott and Toni Hughes, in their desire to help our community, got involved with the Relay For Life charity event in Polk County. That event inspired Scott and Toni to look for other ways to serve Polk County and in 2021 their dream became a reality with the establishment of Polk County Cares.

Our families have truly been blessed and we both felt that it was important to look for ways to give back to our community,” said Scott Hughes. With that sentiment, Scott and Toni organized a crawfish boil that’s now in its 11th year. Toni Hughes pointed out, “Every year our crawfish boil has grown bigger and bigger and, while we’ve been primarily focused on supporting a couple of specific local charities, we’ve now grown to the point that we’re looking for more opportunities to help in Polk County.”

Polk County Cares is a 501 (c) 3 organization that gives back to the community. Polk County Cares is currently accepting applications for support for 2023.
